Power Restoration in Brooklyn Continues
NEW YORK, NY, Jul 20, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- More than 1,100 customers in Sunset Park, Bay Ridge and Borough Park have had their electrical power restored since this morning. Approximately 900 customers remain without electricity and most are expected to be restored by tonight, with the remainder being restored early tomorrow morning.

Customer service vans have been set up at the following locations, where dry ice is being distributed:

-- 41st Street and 10th Avenue in Borough Park;

-- 3rd Avenue between 48th Street and 49th Street in Sunset Park; and

-- 44th Street and 7th Avenue in Sunset Park.

Con Edison continues to ask all customers in Sunset Park, Bay Ridge and Borough Park to avoid using non-essential electrical appliances, including air conditioning, until problems on electrical cables are resolved.

The company continues to ask customers to report power interruptions or service problems online at www.conEd.com, or by calling Con Edison's toll-free customer service number 1-800-75-CON ED (1-800-752-6633). When reporting an outage, customers should have their Con Edison account number available, if possible, and report whether their neighbors also have lost power.
